How many times have you searched for something online and found the answer instantly? Now imagine if every barrier stood between you and that knowledge: language, disability, low bandwidth, unfamiliar formats, or information that doesn’t reflect your culture or reality.

For millions of people, that is not a hypothetical. It is a daily truth.

Intersectionalities.org was created to radically shift this reality. We are a women-led, Black-Indigenous-rooted, trans-inclusive global organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland, working with communities across 110+ countries. Our mission is clear: restore the right to learn, to access, and to co-create knowledge—especially for those historically excluded from the systems that define it.

At Intersectionalities.org, knowledge is not abstract. It is practical. It is political. It is personal.

Rooted in the philosophies of Paulo Freire (critical consciousness), Edgar Morin (complex thinking), and Kimberlé Crenshaw (intersectionality), our work dismantles structural inequities by fostering learning spaces that are accessible, inclusive, and community-led. We provide open-access, multimedia content and capacity-building for grassroots communities, rights holders, and marginalised groups. Our platform is designed to overcome systemic exclusion by integrating formats like:

  • Sign language interpretation
  • Audio description
  • Multilingual subtitles
  • Easy-to-read materials
  • Low-bandwidth and offline-friendly content

Our digital architecture is grounded in three pillars:

  • SeshatHub – A multilingual, community-generated knowledge hub offering videos, podcasts, AI-enhanced explainers, and infographics co-created with marginalised groups.
  • Ishtar Centre – A professional development and rights-training space focused on women, LGBTQIA+ persons, people with disabilities, Indigenous leaders, and climate justice activists, offering coaching, policy support, and legal-literacy programs.
  • Roots Fund – A micro-granting initiative that shifts funding directly to grassroots actors for knowledge production, curriculum development, and digital inclusion strategies.

These initiatives are not just projects. They are systems of transformation. Through each of them, we move toward a future where knowledge is not gatekept or commodified, but shared freely, ethically, and equitably.

We know that when information is culturally relevant, multilingual, and co-created with the people it aims to serve, it doesn’t just inform, it empowers. We are building a world where access to knowledge drives dignity, visibility, and justice.

“Knowledge must be a right, not a privilege.”
