About
“Knowledge exists, but it is often too expensive, only available in dominant languages, or disconnected from our lives”.
Intersectionalities.org aims to overcome social injustice on knowledge production and sharing!
We are inspired by
- Hypatia – the courage to question limits,
- Paulo Freire – learning together, not from above,
- Edgar Morin – seeing the full complexity of people’s lives, and
- Kimberlé Crenshaw – understanding how identities, societal barriers and opportunities intersect.
Who we are
We are led by five women from diverse backgrounds, inclusing cis and trans people.
We engage a community of 2,000+ diverse people from all continents, together with several allies, creating a new approach to producing and accessing knowledge to overcome social injustice.

Intersectionalities.org emerged from Tchaurea’s vision for an organisation that would transform how knowledge is created and shared, challenging systemic injustice, and placing marginalised people at the front of the global knowledge agenda.
A few months later, she shared this vision with Camila Petzoldt, who immediately recognised its relevance and potential. Then, she brought Guler Koca, Rose Diakité and Sara Pombo into the vision, each contributing perspectives shaped by diverse identities, lived experiences across continents and expertise in human rights, development, humanitarian action, and community-led appraoches.
Their collective commitment quickly solified, leading to the establishment of Intersectionalities.org in April 2025, grounded in inclusion by design, cultural sensitivity, and co-created knowledge.
