About
Intersectionalities.org is built on powerful intellectual legacies that demand justice and embrace complexity. Inspired by Paulo Freire’s critical consciousness, Edgar Morin’s complex thinking, and Kimberlé Crenshaw’s concept of intersectionality, our work challenges exclusion by centring lived experience, co-creating knowledge, amplifying diverse perspectives, building collective capacity, and confronting systemic barriers.
Crenshaw teaches us that identity is never singular. People of diverse identities live at the intersection of barriers and opportunities, experiencing discrimination or forging new paths depending on how race, gender, disability, and other factors interact in their lives. Freire reminds us that knowledge must be co-created, not delivered. His vision of dialogic learning lives in our community-based partnerships, multilingual content, and respect for every learner as a knowledge-holder.
Morin pushes us to reject simple answers and ensure that no single identity or barrier is addressed in isolation. We respond by designing tools and content that reflect reality’s full complexity, calling to embrace it. Intersectionalities.org exists to transform how knowledge is produced and shared, especially in the context of rising inequities and the urgent transformations brought on by the AI revolution.

Who we are
We are an inclusive women-led organisation — including cis, trans, and non-binary people — committed to inclusion by design. We centre people of diverse identities, particularly from the Global South, bringing their experiences, expertise and insights forward. We co-create with them, in a circular way, instead of speaking for them.
Our Mission
Everywhere. For Everyone.

Transformation

Intersectionalities.org exists to support people of diverse identities to co-create accessible, inclusive, multilingual, culturally grounded online knowledge, focused on human rights, development, humanitarian action, and climate change, leading their own lives and driving collective transformation.
Our Values
Everything we are and we do is guided by our values:
WE ARE INCLUSIVE
Accessibility, multilingualism, and lived experience make knowledge truly inclusive and relevant.
WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE
We uphold transparency and open communication, guided by cultural sensitivity and a commitment to historical justice, learning from past injustices.

WE LEARN COLLECTIVELY
We build collective power through co-creation, shared learning, and partnerships rooted in mutual respect.
Founder Members
Intersectionalities.org is built upon the vision and leadership of individuals whose diverse cultural, linguistic, professional backgrounds and lived experiences across continents and identities embody the organisation’s commitment to intersectionality. Each founder member brings a deep understanding of systemic inequality, the need for inclusive knowledge-sharing, and transformative leadership. This diversity is not only a strength — it is the foundation of how we think, work, and lead.
Intersectionalities.org fosters knowledge-sharing, enhances co-creation and strengthens grassroots initiatives to drive meaningful, powerful and transformative change. Together, we represent different Global South and North regions, with expertise across international human rights, development, humanitarian, inclusion, and community-led development. Some of us are young, black people, persons with disabilities; others identify as part of LGBTIQA+ communities, as Indigenous descent or have experienced migration and displacement. What unites us is a shared vision: to co-create accessible, multilingual, and culturally relevant learning that enables people to reclaim their power and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
This diverse leadership ensures that our platform is shaped by the people it aims to serve. We do not speak for others — we walk alongside, guided by collective reflection, humility, and respect. At its heart, Intersectionalities is a thriving community of rights holders, advocates, and changemakers who co-create knowledge, challenge societal narratives, and foster long-term and inclusive solutions. This foundation of inclusion and intersectionality is present in every layer of our work, from content design to governance.
